Download the latest update to your claims module(s) (12.10 for Medisoft v12 here, and 14.04 for Medisoft v14 here), then take the following steps to set up the NPI in Medisoft 12 and 14:

1. From the menu bar, click on List->Insurance->Carriers.

2. Highlight the insurance carrier and click Edit.

3. From the Address tab, enter NPI: in the Practice ID field, as shown.

4. Click on the PINS tab, delete data from the PIN, Qualifier, Group ID, and Qualifier columns, and click Save.

Note: When the insurance carrier is set to NPI only as shown, claims will transmit using the NPI standard exclusively.
