This service pack includes previous Lytec 2006 service packs, so there's no need to update to SP1 then SP2 first.

:: Lytec 2006 Service Pack 3 Details ::

This document highlights Lytec 2006 release items that have been enhanced or modified and are being included as part of service pack three.
This package includes all previously released service pack updates.

This executable update program is applicable to any previous release of Lytec 2006. An asterisk (*) and bold type denotes items specific to service pack three.
All other items were included in early service pack releases are still applicable to this update package.

Advanced Reporting
· Importing reports process has been modified to function as expected
· Advanced Reports “Cannot find the path specified” error has been resolved
· Advanced Reports “Too many users…” message is now managed by the application
· Advanced Reports refresh and sorting functionality has been enhanced to be consistent throughout the application
· Crystal Reports now conducts version checking at start-up
· User-friendly message added to indication 30-day Crystal Reports expiration
· Advanced Reports “Invalid column name GUID” error has been fixed
· Crystal Reports viewer giving ActiveX error when running reports in Lytec
· Advanced Reports debug information removed
· Help “About” information added to Advanced Reports tool bar
· Lytec 2006 Advanced Reporting starts other applications in certain environments (e.g. ACT)
· *Insurance Aging Patient Type filters are functional

Billing
· Patient Payment Wizard now requires Sales Tax code
· Primary key violation when posting payments is resolved
· Finance charges combine at family level
· Provider Insurance ID not populating on claim in certain cases
· Custom HCFA Form modified to print Provider Pin in the appropriate box
· Apply Prepayment wizard now reports correct prepay balance
· Payment wizard temporary tables are now cleared after operation is performed
· Better error handling when an existing bill is presented and found to have item detail errors
· *Apply Payment wizard performance enhancements associated with patients having numerous billing records
· *Authorization modification from custom header grids
· *Apply Insurance Payments window now highlights responsible insurance
· *Billing header and detail custom fields are now available for claims and statements
· *Enhanced archival & unarchive process
· *Improved handling of imported transaction flat files
· *Corrected Alt-B Hot Key in Charges and Payments
· *Resolved Hot Key conflict in custom header grid of Charges and Payments

Claims
· *Claim Diagnosis two no longer shifts to position three on printed forms
· *Claim creation has been optimized for increased performance

Collection Work list
· Updated to correct work list reassigning process
· *Patient names are now displayed when patient responsible for collection item

Conversion– (Primarily seen from new CD installations)
· Conversion has been enhanced to handle practice names that end with punctuation
· Lock request timeout during conversion is now managed by the application
· Now manages “Invalid pointer – lock type error” when converting from Lytec 2004 datasets
· Conversion enhanced to manage older versions of Lytec that may not have a system user ID on file
· Archive table validation now occurs prior to conversion

Database
· Improved handling of unfound SQL Server instance name when disconnected from network
· SQL Admin Studio now installs on the Server during Client Server installations
· SQL Agent startup validation is now enabled
· Modified SQL Server recovery mode from “Simple” to “Full”
· Improved F2 save performance in Charges and Payments
· Improved system performance when saving a new patient
· SQL Admin Studio no longer asks user to download “trial version”
· Improved record locking protocols when deleting a patient or deleting a billing
· Enhanced performance around table rebuild times
· Collection work list creation performance increased
· *Optimized data rebuild process
· *Keep alive thread optimized to avoid user timeout errors
· *Improved backup/restore process
· *Includes option to “shrink” database

ERA
· The following ERA items have been enhanced:
* Certain remittance formats posting payment to first line item is resolved
* MA07 codes now results in a single Medicare/Medicaid write-off
* MA18 no longer causes Medicare/Medicaid write-off
* Medicare/Medicaid write offs are now reported as separate line items
· ERA now ignores erroneous carriage returns sometimes found in remittance files
· *Improved handling of certain instances where file was only posting to first line item

Patients
· The patient and insurance balances are now consistent with information shown in the Charges and Payments portion of the application
· Display of balance information is optimized for improved performance
· Resolved Image Tab “floating” in view under certain system configurations
· Optimized response performance of Quick Add patient window throughout various sections of the application
· Optimized performance when adding patients with system generated chart numbers. This fix is a cumulative performance increase, as Lytec attempts to fill gaps in chart numbers. Performance increase and optimization will compound as each new patient is added.
· Improved handling of syntax errors associated with special characters in the chart number
· *Enhanced application performance retrieving patient data from look-up windows
· *Improved screen representation of patient balance fields

Reporting - Legacy
· Deposit sheet modified to ensure accurate reporting of prepayment money
· Certain reporting column widths were modified to fit extended data
· Zero dollar prepayment line has been removed from deposit sheet
· Improved table lock handling when multiple reports are calling same table
· Laboratory report no longer gives “can’t find sub report cover page” error
· Modified Transaction Analysis report to correctly display % of allowed amount
· Transaction Code Analysis report runs without error messages
· Monthly Summary now allows filtering for month of December
· Insurance Category filters now function as expected when running claims
· Crystal Report warning no longer occurs if you elect to “not print header page”
· Birthday filter now ignores year when running patient labels
· In very specific scenarios, the 6th transaction line diagnosis not printing is resolved
· Resolved invalid field error loop in custom reporting
· Resolved error occurrences in certain situations where user may indicate “No” the print job did not print correctly
· Day Sheet has been optimized for increased performance
· Corrected certain instances where a negative prepayment is reported on the Day Sheet
· Transaction Journal has been optimized for increased performance
· Increased performance when printing secondary claims
· Increased performance of the print dialog display associated with printing statements
· Removed error in situations where a custom report had a specific printer designated as part of the report preferences
· Hold Code List report “To” filter now behaves as expected
· Corrected intermittent system errors when printing tracers
· Resolved intermittent system errors when reprinting claims
· *Transaction Journal now reports Medical Connect Transactions and subtotals by provider as expected
· *Improved error handling in the Transaction Journal when managed care headers are found to be without provider assignment
· *Prepayment information can now be added to any custom report
· *Patient Balance report no longer reports incorrect $0 balances
· *Resolved divide by zero errors in certain situation on the Practice Analysis report
· *All custom fields should now be available for reports
· *Referring Provider report now accounts for unapplied prepayments
· *Insurance company name now shows on statements

· *Statement filter logic improved when using Patient Type include and Hold Code exclude filters together

Scheduler
· Improved application stability in high volume environment
· Custom fields are now viewable in Lytec Scheduler
· Resolved intermittent record locking and slow response time when accessing patients records and/or switching between Schedule Views
· Resolved isolated reports of “hidden” appointments in situations where the first record of a double-booked time slot was deleted. Screen refresh no longer required to resolve.
· Resolved isolated instances where user might encounter “invalid argument” error when scheduling a regular appointment in conjunction with a repeat appointment that falls outside of the designated available time window for a given resource
· Patient appointment history sorting has been improved
· *Optimized performance when switching between views and patients
· *Patient balances will no longer calculate if the “do not calculate” box is checked
· *The appointment provider, rather than patient’s default provider, will print on superbill
· *Better management of simultaneous multiple same timeslot bookings
· *Corrected situation in which certain templates caused infinite loops if scheduled after midnight

Other items
· Improved stability of the demonstration copy of the application
· Tutorial prepayment data is now calculating consistently
· F7 key now functions as expected
· Tutorial data updated to include sample eligibility data
· Practice names no longer disappear from Practice List under certain conditions (visual only)
· Resized Quick Add Provider Id window
· Better message handling via Medical Connect when trying to select a provider during set up

· Billing Services can now hide different practices so a user of one practice cannot see another practice in the Practice List

· Crystal Reports installation has been modified to avoid system reboots
· Code Import now installs directly from CD
· Crystal Reports installation is more compatible with older versions of Crystal
· Lytec 2006 is now the default installation folder
· Users are asked for serial prefix during installation process
· Installation sequence ensures Crystal Reports and SQL Admin are fully installed before proceeding
· SQL Server service manager reviews its initiated state following installation
· *Installation process now checks for any previously pending system reboots before installing SQL Server
